This antique Persian Heriz rug was hand-knotted by consummate masters of weaving.  Once asked how she chose the colors to be used for her rug, a Heriz rug weaver pointed at the sunset that was just occurring.  The warm color palette in this rug reflects that with shades of Apricot, Persimmon, soft Sage Green and Ivory.  The intricate design features a traditional large medallion with overscale cornerpieces.    Mellowed with age this rug has attained a wonderful patina.  Size is 9 x 12.  Overall condition is good.  A  captivating find.
