Accounting / Inventory Assistant

Hagopian is seeking a full-time Inventory Assistant to work in our Oak Park, MI warehouse office.
We’re a small to medium sized family owned business, selling and cleaning oriental & area rugs, carpet & flooring. We’ve serviced Metro Detroit and surrounding areas since 1939, and continue to seek growth opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INVENTORY ASSISTANT:
• Inventory item input/set-up
• Purchase order creation
• Placing orders with vendors
• Entering received product into inventory
• Matching and preparing vendor invoices for accounting
• Manage price lists
• Run inventory reports

SKILLS NEEDED TO BE OUR INVENTORY ASSISTANT:
• Thorough, with attention to detail
• Accuracy of assigned tasks
• Ability to work in an organized manner and follow through on tasks to completion
• Work well independently and within a team
• Aptitude for working with numbers and data
• Proficiency with computers and ability to learn our inventory software

Carpet Cleaner Assistant

Hagopian is seeking an ambitious full-time Carpet Cleaning Assistant to join their team in Oak Park, MI. Does working in various locations (homes and businesses in the Metro Detroit area mostly) and contributing to a well-established leader in rugs, upholstery, drapes and tile cleaning services appeal to you? RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CARPET CLEANING ASSISTANT.
• Assist in the cleaning of carpet, upholstery, drapes and tile in customer homes/business.
• Assist in preparing the work vehicle for the day’s activities (washing, stocking with supplies.)
• Assist w/maintenance of vehicle/equipment; fill out maintenance request forms as needed.
• Assist Carpet Cleaning Specialist in locating job sites and drive vehicle when necessary.
• Set up equipment at job site.
• Interact with the customer as job knowledge allows.
• Prepare rooms/areas for cleaning by moving/shifting furniture, picking up items off floor, etc.
• Assist Carpet Cleaning Specialist in the cleaning process.
• Apply topical treatments when requested.
• Put equipment back into vehicle at completion of the job.
• Assist in pricing of work & collecting monies, as needed: calling into Dispatcher.
• Work in other areas of the company when not needed on-location.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED AS OUR CARPET CLEANING ASSISTANT.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Possess exceptional customer service skills that instill confidence, trust and discretion with our diverse clients and staff.
• Are sales focused with an ability to upsell services based on client needs.
• Are able to work a schedule that involves local travel to various clients.
• Ability to use and function in an environment that uses commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to follow safe work practices, proper lifting techniques & wear protective equipment.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist and reach; lift objects greater than 50 pounds w/assistance and work in client homes, businesses & our company plants and garage areas.

Stock Help - Novi

Hagopian is seeking a reliable and energetic Stock Person to join their team in Novi, MI. The Stock Person will assist customers and sales staff, keep the showroom clean and organized, perform general maintenance, and load/unload rugs coming in and going out of our beautiful showroom.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STOCK PERSON.
• Empty trash in showroom and stockroom on a daily basis.
• Clean glass entry doors on a daily basis.
• Clean restrooms on a daily basis.
• Clean and empty exterior ashtrays, as needed.
• Vacuum showroom carpet & sweep hard surfaces on a daily basis; mop when needed.
• Hang rugs and straighten piles.
• Put away rug clips and poles, as needed.
• Cut carpet pads and apply stain protection to rugs (instruction will be provided).
• Accompany sales staff on house calls to deliver rugs, as needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED AS OUR STOCK PERSON.
• Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills with an ability to work independently, take direction and initiative, and work within a team.
• Possess an impeccable attendance record, an exceptional work ethic and exemplary time management skills.
• Ability to use and function effectively in an environment that uses commercial carpet treatment chemicals.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, twist and reach; lift objects greater than 50 pounds w/assistance.
• This position will occasionally work in client homes and requires the successful candidate to possess a neat and professional appearance.
